I currently live with my fiancé Tara and her three amazing children; Emma (18), Hannah (15), and Cyrus (5) in Parrish, Florida. My family hasn't always been the most traditional, but I love them all the same. We all have an interesting dynamic, and enjoy doing regular family things together like "Game Night", or watching a compelling TV Series like West World. While many things are done well together, we can also drive each other a little crazy from time to time, especially when Tara or myself misplace something and try to find it in a rush to leave the house. Or if I dig for the chunks in the ice cream and leave the rest. That's definitely the cardinal sin of our household. All of that being said, I value these relationships so much. With the girls it's the inspiring conversations we have with each other, memes that we send one another, and the empathy for others/common world view that we share. Being Cyrus's step-dad has been a total joy. My eyes light up for the kid more and more every day. It has also been fun passing down my love for the Star Wars Universe to him. Our pets include Oliver the Golden Retriever, Juniper the Black Lab/Pointer Mix, Healy the Siamese Cat, and Lucy the Gray Tuxedo Cat. I have another Tuxedo Cat, Jerry who is currently being cared for by my mother in New Jersey. Sometimes it feels like we're running the Parrish zoo.

The meaningful relationships I maintain don't just end with family either. My best friend is someone who I have never met in person. We became internet friends back in 2005 on a New York Yankees message forum, and still stay in touch daily. We banter about sports, movies, politics, hardships in life, the good times, and almost anything else you can think of. He was a good enough friend to chat with me for a large majority of my 24 hour drive from NJ to Florida back in February 2017. Again. Unorthodox, but I couldn't ask for a better best friend than my bud Joe T from Utica.
