Monica and Phillip's Romantic (and RAGER OF A PARTY!!) Tampa Garden Club Wedding | Tampa, FL | Tampa Wedding Photographer

This is going to a bit of a longer post, both in terms of my commentary and the images included, but it i what I felt compelled to do because of how special Monica and Phillip’s big day was! If you haven’t seen Monica and Phillip’s engagement session photos, please be sure to check them out too! I really connected with Monica and Phillip over music, general conversation on current events, and some of our other common interests. I had a really strong positive feeling going into the wedding day. The amount of joy I felt at Monica and Phillip’s wedding was of the highest, most special kind. Thank you to both the Carters and the Kangari families for showing us so much love and kindness! Also how about that weather? 72 and sunny with a light breeze. That’s what being a Tampa wedding photographer is like in March. Can’t beat it!

Monica, and all of her beautiful bridesmaids were eager to get started as soon as I showed up, and everyone was so attentive in making sure we had time for all of the shots that both Monica and I wanted to get before leaving for the Tampa Garden Club. As you can all see in the photos, Tiffany had a pretty darn good time with the guys too. Monica and Phillip both wrote each other beautiful letters and exchanged heartfelt personalized gifts. I really relate to Phillip because I am a guy who wears his heart on his sleeve at times, and isn’t afraid to show emotion. Phillip did not disappoint with his reaction to Monica during their first look.

Monica and Philip always thank me for making them feel comfortable in front of the camera, but the truth is they have always made my job exceedingly easy. As a photographer my goal is to get couples laughing and acting like themselves in front of the camera. Monica and Phillip excel at this, laughing without instruction, giving each other silly pushes, and just glowing with the kind of energy that makes for fantastic photos. The addition of a Persian wedding ceremony to their more traditional American wedding ceremony was something that was unique and new to me. Monica and Phillip also let me sample of the sweets from the Persian ceremony table. It was very thoughtful that they decided to include the traditions and culture of the Kangari family!

Monica and Phillip both warned me that their party was going to be a true rager with some of our favorite Skrillex songs playing. Not your typical wedding music, and they were NOT exaggerating. My trusty second shooter Tiffany and I could both be found on the dance floor breaking it down and head-banging over the course of the night. The party was a blast! Monica and Phillip danced the night away and the crowd did not let up either. While some guests did filter out as it got late, just like any other wedding, #teamnosleep was in full effect - until the very last dance. Ending with a sparkler exit, and big hugging goodbyes, I could not have been any happier with how this wedding went. I hope to stay in touch with Monica and Phillip for many years to come, and see what big adventures they go on next.

Included first are a few of my favorite couples portraits, followed by the rest of their wedding day chronologically!
